Hugh Pascall – Absence March (Max Cooper Remix)

This project was really enjoyable to work on because Hugh Pascall provided some amazing live instrumental parts with the trumpet and organ playing, which I caught a vibe from straight away and ran with to try make something a bit more in the techno/house space than the original, but still very much keeping the original idea.
I heartedly recommend checking out the originals on this release, they’re awesome, full of character and soul, and are being released on vinyl only, with 300 hand stamped and numbered copies….some exclusive business!…a different way of doing things by DSCNCTD records than my usual.

D'Angelo - Left and Right (James Blake Harmonimix)

Played on BBC Radio 1, Rob da Bank – ‘One On One Off’ with James Blake.
James Blake has been a big fan of D’Angelo for a long time. To celebrate D’Angelo’s return, Blake played a remix of the R&B star’s Voodoo single “Left & Right” during a guest DJ set on BBC Radio 1 this weekend, as Disco Naïveté points out. The remix came by way of Blake’s Harmonimix moniker, under which he has also reworked songs by Lil Wayne, Snoop Dogg, and Destiny’s Child. Blake mentioned that he is working on his next full-length, noting that it is ”quite possible” it will be out by the end of 2012.

Disclosure - Flow

Here’s the B-side to young London bass music duo Disclosure’s forthcoming single, “Tenderly” b/w “Flow”, which should be seeing release before the end of this month on Make Mine. You’ll remember we posted the A-side, “Tenderly”, last month.

Dean Blunt - Track 2 (feat Inga Copeland)

New work of smoky soul from Hype Williams duo.
Hype Williams is Dean Blunt and Inga Coupland, but in the last year, there has been speculation over their split, and this new track, titled Track 2 and listed as Dean Blunt (feat Inga Coupland), and that it will appear on ‘The Narcissist II’. ‘The Narcissist I’ was Dean Blunt’s solo CD-R.
